Artwork on Loan

The Arts Bring Joy to Life

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council in collaboration with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department introduce a borrowing scheme – Artwork On Loan, allowing the general public to appreciate the works of 60 local artists at their own place. Participating artists include awardees of the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition as well as the Visual Arts Achievement Award, the Fellowship for Artistic Development Award and the Rising Artist Award of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Also on the list are artists from the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, Hong Kong Artists Society, Hong Kong Lan Ting Society and Hong Kong Association of Amateur Calligraphers.

The works include Chinese and Western paintings, calligraphy, lithography, photography and mixed media. All artworks are reproduction pieces with title and creative concept.

You are welcome to borrow the works from the Arts Resource Centre, Hong Kong Central Library for appreciation, turning your home, office or even the school into a private gallery.

Eligibility

All individual holders of the public library card are eligible to borrow a maximum of two pieces of works while holders of the group card can borrow a maximum of five pieces of works (a maximum of 20 pieces for school) for a period of 30 days.

  1. Direct Loan: Borrower can check out loan items listed in the "Artwork on Loan" Catalogue directly form the Arts Resource Centre. As the reproduced works are stored in rolls, borrowers who want to borrow works in frames have to make a prior request.

The ADC and the Arts Resource Centre reserve the right of final decision on the damage of the borrowed items.
